Nevil Roy, an energetic 13-year-old from Palakkad, is in urgent need of a surgery and possibly, a liver transplant to save his life. He has been sick for several months and doctors treated him symptomatically. Only recently did doctors at Kozhikode medical college diagnose liver disease with significant liver damage.
He is currently in ventilator at Amritha hospital awaiting a liver transplant that would cost over Rs.20 lakhs. His father and mother do small scale farming. The income they make is nowhere near enough to fund this surgery. His elder brother is a seminarian, and a possible liver donor for Nevil. The family approached MicroCharity for financial assistance as they have no other means of collecting the required amount.
