Twin sisters, Jeraldina and Jeromina’s story is not different from many lower income families in Bangalore, India. Their dad Sesu Raj, the sole bread winner of the family makes about Rs.200 per day working as an auto driver. But he is a chronic alcoholic and does not go to work regularly. The family is now struggling to get the kids to school. The little girls are in 1st standard and at a risk of not going to school at all, due to their financial difficulties. They have other loans to pay off and also a monthly rent of Rs.1500 for the house they are staying in.
The fee for both children combined come to Rs.25,700 for this year. The family approached MicroCharity for assistance in paying the school fee.
