Harish is suffering from a chronic kidney disease, and is surviving on dialysis. He was waiting for a donor and approval from the medical council for the past 10 months. All formalities are complete and his surgery is scheduled for February 19th, 2015 at Medical Trust Hospital, Kochi.

His story is very tragic. The day that was expected to be the best, turned out to be the worst one in his life. Harish had a stomach pain a few hours after his wedding and was taken to a hospital. Investigations revealed that he was suffering from a kidney disease and a kidney transplant is the only solution. His married life ended the very same day. He had to take a bank loan to pay compensation to the bride’s family.

Harish works as an office assistant though his physical condition does not allow him to work. His aged father works as a sales man in a shop. His brother is still looking for a job. A kidney transplantation surgery would cost approximately Rs. 6.5 lakhs excluding post-surgery medical expenses, and about Rs. 5 lakhs for the donor. More than Rs. 2 lakhs has been spent on medical expenses so far, which was raised from friends and well-wishers.
