Hip Surgery for Thomas Benny

12-year-old Thomas Benny from Idukki, Kerala had to undergo a hip dislocation surgery last year after he fell and hurt himself. His father is working as a coolie and his mother is a house wife. The family was not able to afford his surgery and it was done with the help of his school teachers. Now, Benny needs to undergo one more surgery to remove the steel nails that were inserted in his hip during the first surgery. Total cost of surgery comes to Rs. 30,000.

The family is by no means able to meet this expense and approached MicroCharity for financial assistance. Benny also needs a high calcium, high protein diet after surgery for faster recovery. They were able to collect Rs. 2000 from friends and well-wishers, but there’s still a long way to go.
