Fathima Bee from Bihar has suffered 5 miscarriages already. Currently she is 3 months pregnant and suffering from Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), is a blood disorder involving a decrease in the number of platelets in the blood. She started bleeding recently and was admitted to St. John’s hospital, Bangalore.
She needs IVIG injection immediately to save her life as well as that of her unborn child. Fathima Bee’s husband is working as a daily labourer and he is the only breadwinner of the family. The first dose of IVIG injection has to be given immediately to prevent further bleeding and a drop in platelet count.
One dose costs Rs. 96,000, and she might need one more dose later, after evaluating the condition post the first dose. They reached out to MicroCharity for financial assistance since the family has no means to pay even for one dose.
