19 year old Jesna Emmanuel from Kerala has been suffering from cancer for the past 2 years. Doctors recommended a bone marrow transplant, but they have not been able to do it due to financial constraints.
So she is now going through chemotherapy, a course having 14 sessions at a cost of Rs. 75,000 for each session. Her father is working as a coolie and her mother is a homemaker. She also has a younger brother studying in school. At a monthly income of less than 10,000, the family has no means to continue Jesna’s treatment as they are already in debt from previous medical expenses. They are desperately in need of money now since Jesna is admitted at the hospital, since her blood count came down after chemotherapy.
