Navas Chavarkkad Kunju Mohammad, a 42-year-old gulf returnee, is in urgent need of our support for his kidney transplant surgery. He was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease 5 years ago, while he was working as a salesman in the Middle east. He came back home and has been unemployed hence. He was managing with medicines until 6 months back, when it started getting worse. Navas has been on regular dialysis since then, 12-15 dialyses per month at a cost of Rs. 60,000.

Navas’s mother is just recovering from breast cancer. His wife, who was a daily wage worker, is not able to work anymore due to her husband’s and mother-in-law’s illness. They have 2 children aged 7 and 5.

Kidney transplant is the only solution recommended by doctors. After waiting for many months, they have now found a donor. The family is struggling to meet their daily living expenses, and is in no position to fund the kidney transplant surgery which would cost Rs. 15 lakhs. After reaching out to all possible sources, they are still short on funds. They approached MicroCharity for financial assistance.
