Sivanna is a carpenter by profession. He lives with his wife and 2 kids, studying 3rd and 1st standard respectively. Few months back, Sivanna fell down from a tree and was paralyzed from neck down. He has been under treatment at St.Johns Hospital, Bangalore for last few months and is now able to move his right hand a little. Doctors are trying to at least get his right hand fully functional.
He knows tailoring and so, the hospital’s social work department is planning to give him a power run tailoring machine. With some help from his wife, he should be able to take up tailoring for a living. Shivanna’s family is very poor, his brother is currently taking care of his treatment expenses. A well-wisher has promised to fund the tailoring machine.
They are now looking for some help in buying a wheel chair so that he can move around. Our contact person at the social work department would be able to procure a refurbished wheel chair for Rs.8000. Shivanna is getting discharged from the hospital on February 5th, 2015 and we are trying to get the wheel chair ready before that.
