Linsha Thomas from Pathanamthitta, Kerala and her family will have to face legal action from the bank soon, for non-repayment of educational loan. Linsha completed her General Nursing course (GNM) from Alvas college of nursing, Moodbidri, for which she had to take an educational loan of Rs.100,000 from Canara Bank, Pathanamthitta. After completing the course, she got a job as staff nurse in a private hospital in Mumbai. The salary is just enough to cover her accommodation and food, with nothing left over to repay the loan.

Linsha’s father is working as a salesman in a small shop in Pathanamthitta, at a salary of Rs.3,000. The family has not been able to repay the educational loan, which has now come to Rs.120,668 including interest. They are in dire need of financial help, without which the bank will take the legal course of action.
