Lissy’s small rented house at Kongorpilly near Aluva, was almost fully submerged in water in the recent Kerala floods. She’s 61 years old and lives with husband, Jose who is currently unemployed after he lost his job as a shop assistant. Lissy lost her tailoring machine, her only source of income and also many other household appliances and furniture incurring very heavy expenditure. She’s a cancer survivor who was doing odd tailoring jobs to earn a living since the family has no other source of income. Her daughter is married, and her son helps to pay the house rent. Lissy and Jose have to take care of all other living expenses.

She is keen on opening a small shop to generate some income and needs INR 60,000 to pay the security deposit in addition to buy some items for the shop. They approached MicroCharity for financial support.
